Abstract
The European Commission has published the 2010 General call for proposals of the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) whose overarching aim is to develop and foster interchange, cooperation and mobility to improve education and training systems in accordance with the Lisbon strategy. A budget of approximately €1 billion accompanies this call across the six sectoral programmes: i) Comenius (school education); ii) Erasmus (higher education); iii) Leonardo da Vinci (vocational education and training); iv) Grundtvig (adult education), v) the Transversal programme and vi) Jean Monnet (academic teaching). Increased focus is given this year to projects promoting the policy objectives of 'ET 2020 ' (the updated Strategic Framework for European Cooperation to reform education and training systems, launched in May), and fostering creativity and innovation in these fields.
