Abstract

For the Illinois State Board of Education to take action to terminate the Intergovernmental Cooperative Agreement by and between the Illinois State Board of Education and the Board of Education of Calumet Public School District 132 ” (the “Agreement”) (Attachment A). The Agreement has been in effect since approximately July 1, 2006. Calumet Public Schools District 132 (the “District”) has since developed and implemented improvement plans prescribed in this Agreement, and such implementation has helped spark improvement, to varying degrees, across relevant substantive areas. Relationship to/Implications for the State Board’s Strategic Plan As described in further detail herein, this agenda item relates to all three of the Board’s Goals: Goal 1: Every student will demonstrate academic achievement and be prepared for success after high school; Goal 2: Every student will be supported by highly prepared and effective teachers and school leaders; and Goal 3: Every school will offer a safe and healthy learning environment for all students.
