Abstract
Postsecondary Options (POS) or Dual Enrollment (DE) legislation has been enacted in 38 states to permit high school students to enroll simultaneously in high school and college courses. This study contributed to the policy discussion by exploring the parameters of policies on dual/concurrent enrollment in New Jersey and Ocean County College (a New Jersey community college) that relate to the admission of high school juniors and seniors to higher education. Data were gathered through a survey completed by 26 students and interviews with 4 administrators at the college. Quantitative data are organized into these areas: (1) student and academic support; (2) staff responsiveness; (3) quality teaching; (4) understanding of educational requirements; and (5) acceptance of high school students at the college.
