In military out of area missions, it may be necessary to produce drinking water even from highly contaminated surface waters. These waters may contain a large number of organic, inorganic, and microbiological contaminants such as pharmaceutically active compounds (PhACs), pesticides, flame retardants, and heavy metals. The mobile drinking water purification units must be able to remove such contaminants as much as possible to meet the requirements of the maximum tolerance levels for drinking water set by the German and also by the European legislation. In the course of a research project, we investigate two drinking water purification units using the membrane filtration technique. Presently, these units undergo extensive

Everything that happens in a watershed affects the water quality to some degree. Many watersheds have been altered as a result of human being activities. These activities led to pollution of rivers and degrade water quality. The measurement method of water quality using different Water Quality Indicators is investigated. The results of physical-chemical characteristics and load of pollution for river Miljacka and its tributaries and collectors of waste water are given. The method and results are strictly based on legislative obligatory methods and EU/EC water directives and parameters for land water. The biological characteristics macro invertebrates zoo-benthos for the Miljacka river before it inflows in Sarajevo city are investigated and calculated by using Saprobe Index (SI) and Extended Biotic Index (EBI). On the base of valid experimental data the calculations of biological characteristics are performed by Extended Biotic Index (EBI) and Diversity Index (Shanon-Weaver Index) for Miljacka's river delta. The sanitary micro-biological characteristics by the measurement of sanitary micro-biological parameters for three target locations are analised. Analyzing reliable results of research we made some proposals of sustainable protection measures for the chosen cases.

Development of rapid prototyping systems and materials causes their wider implementation in many areas of human activities. Three-dimensional printing technique, invented in Massachusetts Institute of Technology and developed by Z Corporation, nowadays is asserting itself in both a direct and indirect production of parts and assemblies of any complexity. However, like any rapid prototyping technique, it has significant limitations, mainly in available materials and material properties. Owing to a poor material properties, all three-dimensional printed models need to be post-processed. Poor material properties open possibilities for a various researches of the effects of processing parameters on printed models. In this paper we are presenting research of the effects of the layer thickness, building direction and post-processing on the hardness of three-dimensional printed models. In our research we found that the variations of considered parameters do not have a significant influence on the hardness of the three-dimensional printed models.
