Abstract
This paper addresses the current research in multi-standard wireless mixed-signal single -chip transceivers. Multi-standard refers to the capability to support various wireless standards and mixed-signal refers to both digital and analog circuitry on the same chip. The paper contains an indication and analysis of the problems associated with the integration of both RF and baseband circuits of wireless transceivers on a single die. The implementation technology is silicon which offers a high level of integration and a low cost which is desirable for large scale manufacturing. The trends in current research are listed and conclusions are made to what the prospects may be for the future.
