Abstract

This final project is an experimental research. The aim of this research is to know whether there is any effectiveness of using clustering technique in teaching writing skill of report text to the eleventh grade of the state Islamic high school Purworejo in the academic year 2012/2013. In this research, the researcher took 62 students as sample. The researcher conducted pre-test and post-test. The researcher uses clustering technique to teach writing skill of report text. Statically, the researcher analyzed the data by using t-test. The result of the research shows that teaching writing skill of report text using clustering technique is effective and gives positive contribution toward the students ’ writing skill of report text to the eleventh grade of state Islamic high school Purworejo in the academic year 2012/2013. Since it found that the result of the t-value is 5.58. Based on the 0.05 significance level, the value of the t-table is 2.00. The computation shows that the t-value is higher than t-table that is 5.58>2.00.
