Integrating Business Processes with Peer-to-Peer technology

by Florian Kupsch, Dirk Werth - In INTEROP ESA Conference , 2005
"... Abstract. Since file sharing tools as eDonkey or Grokster are one of the fa-vourite applications for a large number of internet users, the peer-to-peer para-digm experiences a new boom, as it enables very robust, scalable and fault-tolerant architectures. Indeed, the functionality of current applica ..."

Hence, to benefit economically from the characteristics of Peer-to-Peer technology, there is need of additional, innovative applications for business us-age. A predestined scope of application

Collaborative Annotation of Sign Language Data with Peer-to-Peer Technology

by unknown authors
"... Collaboration on annotation projects is in practice mostly done by people sharing the same room. However, several models for online cooperative annotation over the internet are possible. This paper explores and evaluates these, and reports on the use of peer-to-peer technology to extend a multimedia ..."

A framework for classifying peer-to-peer Technologies

by Krishna Kant, Ravi Iyer, Vijay Tewari - Eds, ‘Proceedings of the 2nd IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Cluster Computing and the Grid (CCGrid2002)’, IEEE Computer Society , 2002
"... Abstract — Popularized by Napster and Gnutella file sharing solutions, peer-to-peer (P2P) computing has suddenly emerged at the forefront of Internet computing. The basic notion of cooperative computing and resource sharing has been around for quite some time, although these new applications have op ..."

Peer-to-peer Technologies Applied to Data Warehouses

by Simone Cirani, Lorenzo Melegari, Luca Veltri
"... Abstract—Data mining and user data collection applications, like Facebook and Yahoo, make dealing with huge amounts of data more and more frequent. A solution to cope with this problem is to spread data over multiple network-connected physical devices. Having more devices, though, means increasing s ..."

Abstract We adapt the principle of auxiliary space preconditioning as presented in [J. Xu, The auxiliary space method and optimal multigrid preconditioning techniques for unstructured grids, Computing, 56 (1996), pp. 215–235.] to H(curl; ω)elliptic variational problems discretized by means of edge elements. The focus is on theoretical analysis within the abstract framework of subspace correction. Employing a Helmholtz-type splitting of edge element vector fields we can establish asymptotic h-uniform optimality of the preconditioner defined by our auxiliary space method. SWAP: Ontology-based Knowledge Management with Peer-to-Peer Technology

by Marc Ehrig, Christoph Tempich, Jeen Broekstra, Frank van Harmelen, Marta Sabou, Ronny Siebes, Steffen Staab, Heiner Stuckenschmidt , 2003
"... Introduction In today's knowledge-based economy, the competitiveness of enterprizes and the quality of work life are directly tied to the ability to effectively create and share knowledge both within and across organizations. Many enterprizes have therefore spent huge amounts of money to imple ..."
