Optimal resource allocation in overlay multicast

by Yi Cui, Yuan Xue, Klara Nahrstedt - in Proc. of 11th International Conference on Network Protocols (ICNP 2003 , 2003
"... This paper targets the problem of optimal resource allocation in overlay multicast, which poses both theoretical and practical challenges. Theoretically, resource allocation among overlay flows is not only subject to the network capacity constraint, but also the data constraint, mainly due to the du ..."

Optimal Resource Allocation for Disaster Recovery

by Andrea Bianco, Luca Giraudo
"... Abstract—Two key elements in disaster recovery are backing up data at remote sites and reliability of services by virtualization. To support operational services and to speed up recovery process, resources should be distributed fairly and efficiently. Thus, we discuss resource allocation algorithms ..."

Optimal Resource Allocation in Overlay Multicast

by Yi Cui Yuan, Yuan Xue, Klara Nahrstedt - in Proc. of 11th International Conference on Network Protocols (ICNP 2003 , 2003
"... In overlay multicast, each receiver of the multicast group is free to choose its streaming rate subject to various constraints such as network capacity. We model the rate allocation in overlay multicast as a utility-based optimization problem. We associate a utility with each receiver, which is defi ..."

Optimal resources allocation to elementary networks

by G. Bellei, G. Gentile, N. Papola
"... A wide range of transport bilevel problems are investigated referring to an elementary network consisting of one Origin Destination (OD) pair, with a given demand, connected by two links. In this context it is shown that these problems, generally non-convex, exhibit several local minima. Most result ..."

A wide range of transport bilevel problems are investigated referring to an elementary network consisting of one Origin Destination (OD) pair, with a given demand, connected by two links. In this context it is shown that these problems, generally non-convex, exhibit several local minima. Most results are supplied in a graphical form and analytical proofs are developed for the NDP with linear investment functions. 1

Optimal Resource Allocation in Random Networks with Transportation Bandwidths

by C. H. Yeung, K. Y. Michael Wong , 808
"... Abstract. We apply statistical physics to study the task of resource allocation in random sparse networks with limited bandwidths for the transportation of resources along the links. Recursive relations from the Bethe approximation are converted into useful algorithms. Bottlenecks emerge when the ba ..."
