Theoretical Framing and Case Study

by unknown authors
"... Based on dynamic capability and boundary spanning theory, this study develops a theoretical framework for collaborative BPM in inter-organizational networks. The framework presents collaborative BPM as an organizational capability that serves for connecting business processes through the purposeful ..."

Logical foundations of object-oriented and frame-based languages

by Michael Kifer, Georg Lausen, James Wu - JOURNAL OF THE ACM , 1995
"... We propose a novel formalism, called Frame Logic (abbr., F-logic), that accounts in a clean and declarative fashion for most of the structural aspects of object-oriented and frame-based languages. These features include object identity, complex objects, inheritance, polymorphic types, query methods, ..."

Framing: toward clarification of a fractured paradigm’’,

by Robert M Entman - Journal of Communication , 1993
"... In response to the proposition that communication lacks disciplinary status because of deficient core knowledge, I propose that we turn an ostensible weakness into a strength. We should identify our mission as bringing together insights and theories that would otherwise remain scattered in other di ..."

Theoretically Framing Relational FramingTHEORETICALLY FRAMINGETLOCK AND MCGRAW

by Philip E. Tetlock, A. Peter Mcgraw
"... Our research program on relational framing leaves many process and normative–prescriptive issues unresolved. We agree with the three commentators on the usefulness of (a) experimental work that probes the cognitive and affective processes underlying relational-framing effects, (b) ethnographic work ..."

Real-Time Tracking of Non-Rigid Objects using Mean Shift

by Dorin Comaniciu, Visvanathan Ramesh, Peter Meer - IEEE CVPR 2000 , 2000
"... A new method for real-time tracking of non-rigid objects seen from a moving camera isproposed. The central computational module is based on the mean shift iterations and nds the most probable target position in the current frame. The dissimilarity between the target model (its color distribution) an ..."

Societal definitions of these career issues have a double consequence. On the one hand, these issues differ from one culture ..."

Performance Anomaly of 802.11b

by Martin Heusse, Franck Rousseau, Gilles Berger-sabbatel, Andrzej Duda - In IEEE INFOCOM , 2003
"... Abstract — We analyze the performance of the IEEE 802.11b wireless local area networks. We have observed that when some mobile hosts use a lower bit rate than the others, the performance of all hosts is considerably degraded. Such a situation is a common case in wireless local area networks in which ..."

repeated unsuccessful frame transmissions are detected. In such a case, a host transmitting for example at 1 Mb/s reduces the throughput of all other hosts transmitting at 11 Mb/s to a low value below 1 Mb/s. The basic CSMA/CA channel access method is at the root of this anomaly: it guarantees an equal

Adaptation in Food Networks: Theoretical Frame Work and Empirical Evidences

by Gaetano Martino, Angelo Frascarelli, Gaetano Martino, Angelo Frascarelli
"... The objective of the paper is to contribute to a better understanding of the governance of the food networks focusing on two related aspect: the integration among the agents and the adaptation in the face of emerging disturbances. The paper aims at addressing the problem on what are the role of the ..."

Adaptation is a central problem of economic organisations (Williamson, 1985, 1991), and its conceptualisation is integrated within complementary theoretical perspectives. Among them, the adaptation theory asks whether

Cloud computing offers reduced capital expenditure, operational risks, complexity and maintenance, and increased scalability as well as providing services at different abstraction levels, namely Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-Service(PaaS), and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). The paper highlighted various threats in cloud computing networking, and also proffered solution by discussing extensively various security measures to be enforced on the system to achieve security to a large extent. This paper presents a security architecture that enables a user of cloud networking to define security requirements and enforces them in the cloud networking infrastructure.
