Table 2: Dumb Archive Methods
Table 6. Use of online support systems for external activities in media and publishing in Europe, mid-2002 (percentage of enterprises with Internet access)
"... In PAGE 44: ...3% collaborated on line to forecast demand and 10% used online systems to manage capacity and/or inventory. Fifty-nine per cent of enterprises in the sector exchanged documents with suppliers on line by mid-2002, 62% did so with customers and almost 24% were able to negotiate contracts on line ( Table6 ) (E-Business Watch 2003). Thus, sharing documents on line to perform collaborative work was by far the most important use of online technologies in the media and publishing sector (E-Business Watch 2002).... In PAGE 52: ...Swan 2003; Houghton et al. 2003, p123; Swan and Brown 2004; etc.). This is reflected in the divergence of opinion among researchers as readers and as authors, with many wanting to access online sources but far fewer seeking to publish on line. For example, Swan (2003) reported that 32% of UK researchers surveyed saw pre-print archives as an important source and 62% saw post-print archives as an important source, and yet just 11% deposited articles in them (See Table6 above).8 This is, in part, a matter of time: being in part a matter of generational change among researchers, and in part due to the long-term repute of existing publications and forms of publication relative to newer ones.... ..."
Table 2 contains the radial velocities for CS 22786[032 that we have been able to glean from the archives of the Anglo-Australian Observatory (AAO) (principally from our own observations), literature material kindly provided by P. E. Nissen and J. A. Thorburn, and a service observation from the William Herschel Telescope (WHT). For the AAO and WHT data, we measured velocities using techniques similar to those described by Norris et al. (1996), which we shall not repeat here and to which we refer the reader. The information in the table should be self-explanatory, except perhaps for the errors, which provide an estimate of com- bined internal and external uncertainties.
Table 3. External IDDP.
2007
"... In PAGE 64: ... Simple external IDDP. The results of the second externalization (including buffering and edge flush- ing) are shown in Table3 . We see that there are considerable savings in the crucial resource of main memory especially for the larger problems, while the increase in time remains moderate.... ..."
Table 3. External steps
"... In PAGE 9: ... The remaining rules deal with outgoing communication and are simpler, as the check-part is omitted: With the code of the program present, the checks are guaranteed to be satis ed. In addition to the external steps of Table3 , there are similar ones for com- munication via returns, and rules dealing with initial steps. They are included... ..."
