Abstract: as the attempt to construct an "exact and scientific metaphysics" (ESM). By metaphysics Bunge means general propositions about the world which hold for a wide variety of systems ("metaphysics" here thus does not refer to questions of the existence of God, free will, etc.). By scientific, he means grounded in, i.e., drawing upon and contributing to, the sciences. By exact, he means mathematical, or capable ultimately of being expressed mathematically (Bunge actually includes "exactness" within... (Update)
