Abstract:

The source of a spatial contribution to the coefficient of variation in Affymetrix GeneChip r ○ probe cell summaries was determined to be caused by a misalignment of probe cell locations in the hybridisation image. Described, is an algorithm that corrects for misalignment resulting in improved allocation of pixel intensities to probe cells and a substantial reduction in the variance of pixel intensities attributed to individual probe cells.
