Abstract: Telecommunications Enhanced Communities are geo-political communities such as regions, towns and cities, which have superimposed upon them, an internetmediated virtual community. In Australia, as elsewhere, in the name of regional sustainability, governmental policy has encouraged regional communities to make use of telecommunications generally and the internet specifically to remediate services which are expensive to provide to a dispersed community.
