Abstract: Naturally occurring multi-agent systems exhibit remarkable problem solving capabilities even in the absence of centralized planning. These systems exhibit complex, emergent behavior that is robust with respect to the failure of individual agents. Such systems are usually characterized by the interaction of a large number of simple agents that sense and change their environment locally. In this paper, we discuss mobile agents and how they represent a novel problem solving paradigm that can... (Update)
