Abstract: Predictive modeling, i.e., predicting unknown values of certain attributes of interest based on the values of other attributes, is a major task in data mining. Predictive modeling has wide applications, including credit evaluation, sales promotion, financial forecasting, and market trend analysis. In this thesis, two predictive modeling methods are proposed. The first is a classification-based method which integrates attribute-oriented induction with the ID3 decision tree method.
