Abstract
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS This research would not have been possible without the generous participation of the women and BME lawyers and would-be and former lawyers who took part in the interviews and shared their experiences with the research team. Others also volunteered to participate, but for logistical or other reasons were not able to do so- we thank them for their willingness to be interviewed none the less. We would like to express our thanks to Ben Rigby for providing us with introductions to some members of the profession. We are also grateful to the networks and associations listed in the report, which circulated details of our call for participation to their membership.
