Abstract

With the advances in information and communications technology, mobile computing is becoming prevalent, leading to a decrease in faceto-face interactions. This study analyses how this has a negative impact on social capital between coworkers where levels of embeddedness, trust and common knowledge decrease. It also shows how the technology used by mobile workers mitigates the negative effect of mobile computing on social capital.
