Abstract
This paper incorporates and builds upon our earlier paper, "Toward a Better Measure of Work Experience," which was prepared for the Secretary of Labor's Invitational Conference on the National Longitudinal Surveys of Young Men and Young Women in March, 1979. We are indebted to the U.S. Department of Labor, the Rutgers University Bureau of Economic Research, and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University, for support of this research.
