Abstract
In thispi er, wepIfi ose a robust fullynon-sup ervised method dedicated to the segmentation of the brain in T1-weighted MR images. The firststep consists in the analysis of thescale-sp4T of the histogram first and second derivative. We show first that the crossings in scale-spTO of trajectories of extrema of di#erent derivative orders follow regulartop ologicalpog erties.
