Abstract
This paper is a preliminary attempt to identify the aspects of discourse planning that provide interesting challenges for current work on representations and algorithms for plan generation. I will discuss three areas that are currently occupying some of us in the planning community, and point out the relevance of certain aspects of the discourse-planning problem.
