Abstract
was invited to take part in the first planning com-petition, hosted by the Artificial Intelligence Plan-ning Systems Conference, to provide a new impe-tus for empirical evaluation and direct comparison of automatic domain-independent planning sys-tems. This article describes the systems that com-peted in the event, examines the results, and con-siders some of the implications for the future of the field.
