Abstract
Abstract. BOKS is a knowledge based system which implements the "Bouwstoffenbesluit " (Bsb), the Dutch regulations on the use of building materials. Since the Bsb is a complex set of rules, which many people need to adhere to, a knowledge based system was seen as an ideal way to allow people to check whether they are using building materials according to the law. BOKS was implemented as a first generation rule-based system using decision tables.
