Abstract: The management of a large collection of machines connected by a network and the software running on them is a difficult task. For example, processes may fail causing service disruptions, or users may exceed their quota of system resources causing shortages. If the site has a large number of machines, keeping track of all such problems can be very cumbersome. This thesis presents a system monitoring tool that addresses these problems. The tool monitors different aspects of the system state, such ... (Update)
