Abstract: The Classifier System is a learning mechanism that explores the space of steps leading to a reward. It credits rules leading to a reward through a temporal difference method called a bucket brigade in which each step passes some of its reward to the step that preceded it. The bucket brigade rewards all the steps in a chain, given enough time. However, the classifiers in a population are in competition with each other, so delays in rewarding key steps may result in those steps being crowded out... (Update)
