Abstract: This thesis describes the requirements, design and algorithms for a natural language processing component. The component takes text or output from a speech recognizer and provides a simple semantic representation, suitable for a natural language interface to an application. The operational domain is small and easily changed. Dependency parsing with constraints to reduce ambiguities is used.
