Abstract: The development of modern component-based software systems usually needs to integrate autonomous component-systems which are developed independently from each other. Examples of such component-systems include COTS components, legacy software systems, and Web Services. For developing this new kind of software system, we need innovative software engineering approaches that rely on the system's software architecture to achieve the desired quality properties of the resulting system, such as...
