It has been long years since researchers have recognized the computer's enormous potential as an educational tool. During the past decades, a considerable amount of research have been developed on trying to create computational systems that simulate the traditional teaching process, then he so called tutoring systems. After this, the development of intelligent tutoring systems was suggested. They introduced characteristics that enable the creation of individual and adaptative instructions efficiently. It is noticeable that a critical component of these systems relies in the way the student's knowledge is modeled. This process is called student modeling.
