Abstract. Context-awareness can be a powerful asset to a mobile auditory system. However, in order to fully leverage the information provided by context a system must examine the user, the task and the environment. Auditory display designs must then take into consideration all of these elements. This paper focuses on these facets of context and their application to the System for Wearable Auditory Navigation (SWAN), a context-aware, mobile auditory system for wayfinding. 1
