Abstract Most of the existing approaches to trust management focus on the issues of assessing the trustworthiness of other entities and of establishing trust between en-tities. This is particularly relevant for dynamic, open and distributed systems, where the identity and intentions of other entities may be uncertain. These approaches of-fer methods to manage trust, and thereby to manage risk and security. The methods are, however, mostly concerned with trust management from the viewpoint of the trustor, and the issue of mitigating risks to which the trustor is exposed. This paper addresses the important, yet quite neglected, challenge of understanding the risks to which a whole system is exposed, in cases where some of the actors within the system make trust-based decisions. The paper contributes by proposing a method for the modeling and analysis of trust, as well as the identification and evaluation of the associated risks and opportunities. The analysis facilitates the capture of trust policies, the enforcement of which optimizes the trust-based decisions within the system. The method is supported by formal, UML-based languages for the model-ing of trust scenarios and for trust policy specification. 1

ABSTRACT The WAP application is an application that is accessed via mobile device over a wireless network; this technology has been rapidly growing and distributed in different environments and has basically affected our lives directly and indirectly. This study carried out an investigation into the Weather Information System for Farmers based on WAP Technology to simplify the weather queries via the mobile device. Furthermore the proposed application would be able to save the time and effort of the farmers in checking the required weather changes. The WAP Weather Information System was developed based on WML and ASP mobile programming architecture; furthermore, the usability testing results were obtained to determine the system usefulness. Finally, the WAP Weather Information System may help the farmers by providing them with useful functions, such as weather news, product price, and local news. iii ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Whether or not a software system satisfies the anticipated user requirements is ultimately determined by the behaviors of the software. So it is necessary and valuable to research requirements modeling language and technique from the perspective of behavior. This paper presents a lightweight behavior based requirements modeling language BDL with formal syntax and semantics, and a general-purpose requirements description model BRM synthesizing the concepts of viewpoint and scenario. BRM is good for modeling large and complex system due to its structure is very clear. In addition, the modeling process is demonstrated through the case study On-Line Campus Management System. By lightweight formal style, BDL & BRM can effectively bridge the gap between practicability and rigorousness of formal requirements modeling language and technique.

Abstract — In industry firmware development for USB devices is very demanding. The objective of this research work is to develop a framework for writing and testing the firmware for USB devices even before the devices are manufactured. Faulty hardware is often a bottleneck in firmware development and time is often lost due to this dilemma. There is need for a framework that could reliably test the firmware without the need of actual hardware. Minimizing the time to sell a product is the key to success in today’s growing market. With the development of this framework, hardware and software development can be done in parallel. Such a frame work can be developed on any operating system like windows, Linux etc. In this research work, we have selected Linux operating system for the implementation of Virtual Device Frame work due to its open source nature.
