The motion of a robotic arms, in an environment containing obstacles, and the determining the minimum energy (stable) state for protein, can be modeled as a high dimensionality search problem. Search in a high dimensional space is quite a complex problem. The solution to this problem, using complete algorithms is known to be intractable.
