In this article, we review recent progresses on the holographic understandings of the entanglement entropy in the AdS/CFT correspondence. We derive the conditions for unbroken supersymmetry for a Mink2, (2, 0) vacuum, arising from Type II supergravity on a compact eightdimensional manifold M8. When specialized to internal manifolds enjoying SU(4) × SU(4) structure the resulting system is elegantly rewritten in terms of generalized complex geometry. This particular class of vacua violates the correspondence between supersymmetry conditions and calibrations conditions of D branes (supersymmetrycalibrations correspondence). Our analysis includes and extends previous results about the failure of the supersymmetrycalibrations correspondence, and confirms the existence of a precise relation between such a failure and a subset of the supersymmetry conditions. ar X iv

Abstract: The Kerr/CFT correspondence has been recently broadened to the general extremal black holes under the assumption that the central charges from the nongravitational fields vanish. To confirm this proposal, we derive the expression of the conserved charges in the EinsteinMaxwellscalar theory with topological terms in four and five dimensions and check that the above assumption was correct. Combining the computed central charge with the expected form of the temperature, the BekensteinHawking entropy of the general extremal black holes in four and five dimensions can be reproduced by using the Cardy formula. Motivated by the Kerr/CFT conjecture, we explore solutions of vacuum general relativity whose asymptotic behavior agrees with that of the extremal Kerr throat, sometimes called the NearHorizon Extreme Kerr (NHEK) geometry. We argue that all such solutions are diffeomorphic to the NHEK geometry itself. The logic proceeds in two steps. We first argue that certain charges must vanish at all times for any solution with NHEK asymptotics. We then analyze these charges in detail for linearized solutions. Though one can choose the relevant charges to vanish at any initial time, these charges are not conserved. As a result, requiring the charges to vanish at all times is a much stronger condition. We argue that all solutions satisfying this condition are diffeomorphic to the NHEK metric. Contents 1

We apply BrownHenneaux’s method to the 5D extremal rotating KaluzaKlein black holes essentially following the calculation of the Kerr/CFT correspondence, which is not based on supersymmetry nor string theory. We find that there are two completely different Virasoro algebras that can be obtained as the asymptotic symmetry algebras according to appropriate boundary conditions. The microscopic entropies are calculated by using the Cardy formula for both boundary conditions and they perfectly agree with the BekensteinHawking entropy. The rotating KaluzaKlein black holes contain a 4D dyonic ReissnerNordström black hole and MyersPerry black hole. Since the Dbrane configurations corresponding to these black holes are known, we expect that our analysis will shed some light on deeper understanding of chiral CFT2’s dual to extremal black holes.

It was proposed recently that the nearhorizon states of an extremal fourdimensional Kerr black hole could be identified with a certain chiral conformal field theory whose Virasoro algebra arises as an asymptotic symmetry algebra of the nearhorizon Kerr geometry. Supportive evidence for the proposed duality came from the equality of the microscopic entropy of the CFT, calculated by means of the Cardy formula, and the BekensteinHawking entropy of the extremal Kerr black hole. In this paper we examine the proposed Kerr/CFT correspondence in a broader context. In particular, we show that the microscopic entropy and the BekensteinHawking entropy agree also for the extremal KerrAdS metric in four dimensions, and also for the extremal KerrAdS metrics in dimensions 5, 6 and 7.
