End-to-End Routing Behavior in the Internet

by Vern Paxson , 1996
"... The large-scale behavior of routing in the Internet has gone virtually without any formal study, the exception being Chinoy's analysis of the dynamics of Internet routing information [Ch93]. We report on an analysis of 40,000 end-to-end route measurements conducted using repeated “traceroutes” ..."

persisting for either days or weeks. For routing symmetry, we look at the likelihood that a path through the Internet visits at least one different city in the two directions. At the end of 1995, this was the case half the time, and at least one different autonomous system was visited 30 % of the time.

Taking Email to Task: The Design and Evaluation of a Task Management Centered Email Tool

by Victoria Bellotti, Nicolas Ducheneaut, Mark Howard, Ian Smith , 2003
"... Email has come to play a central role in task management, yet email tool features have remained relatively static in recent years, lagging behind users ’ evolving practices. The Taskmaster system narrows this gap by recasting email as task management and embedding task-centric resources directly in ..."

in the client. In this paper, we describe the field research that inspired Taskmaster and the principles behind its design. We then describe how user studies conducted with “live ” email data over a two-week period revealed the value of a task-centric approach to email system design and its potential benefits

Chemical and chemotactic stimulation of feeding behavior in the hermit crab Petrochirus diogenes. Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology

by Brian A. Hazlett , 1971
"... Abstract-Various concentrations of fish juice were introduced to appendages of freely moving specimens of Petrochirus diogenes. 1. The threshold concentration for chemical elicitation of feeding behavior was over ten times as high for the ambulatory dactyls as for the antennules. 2. Combining tactil ..."

tactile input with chemical input decreased the behavioral threshold of the dactyl receptors ten-fold. 3. Ablation of the antennules was followed, over a two-week period, by a loo-fold increase in behavioral sensitivity to dactyl stimulation.

Viral Infections of the Central Nervous System: A Case-Based Review

by Cecilia Big, Md Lora, A. Reineck, David M. Aronoff , 2009
"... Three patients with viral infections of the central nervous system (CNS) were evaluated on an inpatient infectious diseases consultation service within a two-week period. These cases, caused by herpes simplex virus, varicella zoster virus and enterovirus, highlight the importance of viral pathogens ..."

RAIn: A System for Indexing and Archiving RSS Feeds

by Jeff Cousens, Brian Dennis, Designing A Feedcrawler , 2005
"... Really Simple Syndication, or RSS, provides a way for users to monitor a web site for changes. One of the most popular uses of RSS is to syndicate a web log. RAIn, for RSS Archiver and Indexer, is a system for monitoring and archiving RSS feeds, and for indexing their contents. This report provides ..."
