"... Workers seriously interested in genetic problems have long deplored emphasis in the clinical literature on case reports concerning disease occurring in both members of a pair of identical twins (concordant). The value of reporting cases of illness appearing in one member of a pair (discordant) is ob ..."

twins are rarer anomalies of monochorionic monoamniotic twins, consisting of an incomplete twin attached to the fully developed body of the co-twin. Case presentation: A 30-year-old multigravid woman referred to maternal fetal unit due to polyhydramnios at 28th week of gestation. Sonographic examination

BILATERAL WEBBED FINGERS IN A SET OF FRATERNAL TWINS- CASE REPORT

On the geometry and cohomology of some simple Shimura varieties

by Michael Harris, Richard Taylor , 1999
"... This paper has twin aims. On the one hand we prove the local Langlands conjecture for GL n over a p-adic field. On the other hand in many cases we are able to identify the action of the decomposition group at a prime of bad reduction on the l-adic cohomology of the "simple" Shimura varieti ..."

Utilizing Twins as Controls for Non-Twin Case-Materials in Genome Wide Association Studies

by Andrea Ganna, Alfredo Ortega-alonso, Aki Havulinna, Veikko Salomaa, Jaakko Kaprio, Nancy L, Patrick F. Sullivan, Erik Ingelsson, Christina M. Hultman, Patrik K. E. Magnusson
"... Twin registries around the globe have collected DNA samples from large numbers of monozygotic and dizygotic twins. The twin sample collections are frequently used as controls in disease-specific studies together with non-twins. This approach is unbiased under the hypothesis that twins and singletons ..."

Twins

The use of sub-arachnoid block in a restless eclamptic is not very common. Studies have demonstrated some benefits of sub-arachnoid block over general anaesthesia in stable eclamptic but its role in the management of unstable eclampsia has not been established. Reported below is an eclamptic parturient who was restless despite magnesium sulphate regimen and possesed features suggestive of difficult airway who had uneventful subarachnoid- block for caesarean section.
