AND SYNTHETIC MIXTURES
, 2006
"... Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) have become a focus in both nutritional sciences and medical studies in the evaluation of risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, dyslipidemias, diabetes, obesity, and other diseases. Studies have disclosed that unsaturated fatty acids can offer health benefits w ..."

assay combined with chemometric analysis has been developed that can routinely measure serum and synthetic mixture levels of cholesterol and PUFA simultaneously. This method provides for a more comprehensive unsaturated lipids ’ panel for serum which may be added to the current cholesterol
DEVELOPMENT OF A SUPER ACCELERATED SUCCESSIVE SUBSTITUTION, NEW METHOD FOR SATURATION PRESSURE CALCULATION IN SYNTHETIC MIXTURES AND RESERVOIR FLUIDS
, 2006
"... This paper explains a new method of Super-Accelerated Successive Substitution (SASS) for saturation pressure calculation, in multi-component mixtures of reservoir fluids and synthetic mixtures. The new iterative scheme is characterized by its speed and convergence, even in the critical region. It is ..."

Segmentation using eigenvectors: A unifying view
- In ICCV
, 1999
"... Automatic grouping and segmentation of images remains a challenging problem in computer vision. Recently, a number of authors have demonstrated good performance on this task using methods that are based on eigenvectors of the a nity matrix. These approaches are extremely attractive in that they are ..."

eigenvector segmentation algorithms. We illustrate our analysis with results on real and synthetic images. Human perceiving a scene can often easily segment it into coherent segments or groups. There has been a tremendous amount of e ort devoted to achieving the same level of performance in computer vision
METHOD DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION FOR SIMULTANEOUS ESTIMATION OF ALISKIREN AND ENALAPRIL IN BULK AND SYNTHETIC MIXTURE BY REVERSED PHASE HIGH PERFORMANCE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHIC METHOD
"... A simple, rapid, precise and accurate high performance liquid chromatography method was developed for simultaneous estimation of enalapril and aliskiren in synthetic mixture. Variational Inference for Bayesian Mixtures of Factor Analysers
- In Advances in Neural Information Processing Systems 12
, 2000
"... We present an algorithm that infers the model structure of a mixture of factor analysers using an ecient and deterministic variational approximation to full Bayesian integration over model parameters. This procedure can automatically determine the optimal number of components and the local dimension ..."

ABSTRACT A simple, precise and sensitive method was developed for simultaneous estimation of paracetamol (PAR), cetirizine (CET) and dextromethorphan (DTM) using reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography. A good separation was achieved using a RP C-18 chromatographic column (Phenomenex, 150 mm length × 4.6 mm i.d) and a mobile phase consisting of methanol and phosphate buffer pH 5.5 in the ratio 60:40 v/v at a flow rate of 1 ml/min and the detection wavelength at 210 nm. The retention time of PAR, CET and DTM was found to be at 2.22, 7.83 and 4.50 min respectively. The linearity of the proposed method was found to lie in the range of 100 -500 µg/ml, 3 -15 µg/ml and 10 -50 µg/ml for PAR, CET and DTM respectively. The limit of detection (LOD) was 0.0022, 0.1022 and 0.0106 for PAR, CET and DTM respectively. The Limit of Quantification (LOQ) was 0.0068, 0.3098 and 0.0322 for PAR, CET and DTM respectively. The relative standard deviation of six replicate analysis was found to be less than 2%. This method could be used successfully for simultaneous quantitative analysis of PAR, CET and DTM from pharmaceutical formulations.
SMEM Algorithm for Mixture Models
- NEURAL COMPUTATION
, 1999
"... We present a split and merge EM (SMEM) algorithm to overcome the local maxima problem in parameter estimation of finite mixture models. In the case of mixture models, local maxima often involve having too many components of a mixture model in one part of the space and too few in another, widely sepa ..."
