Longitudinal data analysis using generalized linear models”.

by Kung-Yee Liang , Scott L Zeger - Biometrika, , 1986
"... SUMMARY This paper proposes an extension of generalized linear models to the analysis of longitudinal data. We introduce a class of estimating equations that give consistent estimates of the regression parameters and of their variance under mild assumptions about the time dependence. The estimating ..."

The Cognitive Style of Breadth of Categorization: Longitudinal Consistency of Personality Correlates

by Jack Block, David M. Buss, Jeanne H. Block, Per F. Gjerde
"... Four tasks measuring breadth of categorization in different ways were administered to 128 4-year-old children. Independent personality data were available on these children at ages 3,4, and 7 in the form of behavior ratings by independent sets of teachers using the California Child Q-Set and in the ..."

Four tasks measuring breadth of categorization in different ways were administered to 128 4-year-old children. Independent personality data were available on these children at ages 3,4, and 7 in the form of behavior ratings by independent sets of teachers using the California Child Q-Set and in the form of behavior ratings by independent sets of examiners. The four category breadth measures were standard-scored and composited to generate a domain-representative index of category breadth. This index was then correlated with the independent personality ratings available at each of the four ages. A core set of relationships, common across both age and sex, indicated that broad categorizers, relative to narrow categorizers, had difficulty in stimulus exclusion, lacked autonomous structuring, and generally behaved with few internal constraints. Boys were significantly broader in their categorization than girls, although there was appreciable overlap between the sexes. Personality correlates of breadth of categorization observed as early as 3 years of age were also observed at age 7. Results were placed in a larger theoretical context by introducing the concept of underand

CLASSIC: consistent longitudinal alignment and segmentation for serial image computing

by Zhong Xue, Dinggang Shen, Christos Davatzikos - NeuroImage , 2006
"... Abstract. This paper proposes a temporally-consistent and spatiallyadaptive longitudinal MR brain image segmentation algorithm, referred to as CLASSIC, which aims at obtaining accurate measurements of rates of change of regional and global brain volumes from serial MR images. The algorithm incorpora ..."

The induction of dynamical recognizers

by Jordan B. Pollack - Machine Learning , 1991
"... A higher order recurrent neural network architecture learns to recognize and generate languages after being "trained " on categorized exemplars. Studying these networks from the perspective of dynamical systems yields two interesting discoveries: First, a longitudinal examination of the le ..."

Functional data analysis for sparse longitudinal data.

by Fang Yao , Hans-Georg Müller , Jane-Ling Wang - Journal of the American Statistical Association , 2005
"... We propose a nonparametric method to perform functional principal components analysis for the case of sparse longitudinal data. The method aims at irregularly spaced longitudinal data, where the number of repeated measurements available per subject is small. In contrast, classical functional data a ..."

conditioning step. This conditional estimation method is conceptually simple and straightforward to implement. A key step is the derivation of asymptotic consistency and distribution results under mild conditions, using tools from functional analysis. Functional data analysis for sparse longitudinal data

Computing person and firm effects using linked longitudinal employer-employee data,” Center for Economic Studies, US Census Bureau,

by John M Abowd , Robert H Creecy , John M Abowd , Robert H Creecy , Francis Kramarz , 2002
"... Abstract In this paper we provide the exact formulas for the direct least squares estimation of statistical models that include both person and firm effects. We also provide an algorithm for determining the estimable functions of the person and firm effects (the identifiable effects). The computati ..."

Dynamic consistency in denmark: A longitudinal field experiment

by Glenn W. Harrison, Morten Igel Lau, E. Elisabet Rutström - The American Economic Review , 2002
"... Abstract. Evidence that individuals have dynamically consistent preferences is usually generated by studying the discount rates of the individual over different horizons, but where those rates are elicited at a single point in time. If these elicited discount rates vary by horizon the individual is ..."

Consistent sulcal parcellation of longitudinal cortical surfaces

by Gang Li, Yang Li, Yaping Wang, Dinggang Shen - NeuroImage , 2011
"... Automatic consistent sulcal parcellation of longitudinal cortical surfaces is of great importance in studying morphological and functional changes of human brains. This paper proposes a novel energy-function based method for consist sulcal parcellation of longitudinal cortical surfaces. Specifically ..."
