Imposing codes of good conduct promotes social behaviour
, 2014
"... In this paper we study experimentally how public statements about future social behaviour, used in oaths and code of conducts, affect in-dividual decisions. Our results indicate that public statements of good intentions can help to overcome social dilemmas. We distinguish be-tween voluntary and comp ..."

DIFFERENTIAL BEHAVIOUR AND INNOVATION IN THE PORTUGUESE CAPITAL GOODS SECTOR
, 1998
"... The paper reports the results of an empirical study of a sample of Portuguese producers of equipment goods. The information collected for this study was based on case studies of nineteen firms. The unit of analysis was the firm. The information was obtained during personal interviews with the owner/ ..."

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: Agonistic Behaviour in Juvenile Crocodilians
"... We examined agonistic behaviour in seven species of hatchling and juvenile crocodilians held in small groups (N = 4) under similar laboratory conditions. Agonistic interactions occurred in all seven species, typically involved two individuals, were short in duration (5–15 seconds), and occurred betw ..."

Exploring the Similarity Space
- SIGIR FORUM
, 1998
"... Ranked queries are used to locate relevant documents in text databases. In a ranked query a list of terms is specified, then the documents that most closely match the query are returned---in decreasing order of similarity---as answers. Crucial to the efficacy of ranked querying is the use of a simil ..."

range of the measures, we hope to observe which features yield good retrieval behaviour in a variety of retrieval environments; and third, by describing our results so far, to gather feedback on the issues we have uncovered. We demonstrate that it is surprisingly difficult to identify which techniques
CYCLICAL BEHAVIOUR OF CONSUMPTION OF NON-DURABLE GOODS:

This paper studies the excessive volatility of Spanish aggregate non-durables consumption with relation to aggregate income. In this paper we stress the importance of non-durables imports over the variability of total non-durables consumption and we propose a theoretical model that formalizes the relation between domestic and imported consumption. The main finding of the paper is that a model of intertemporal optimization where there is no credit constrain or government can produce so high volatilities of consumption as the ones observed.
All-Scale Spatial Analysis Of Ecological Data By Means Of Principal Coordinates Of Neighbour Matrices
, 2002
"... Spatial heterogeneity of ecological structures originates either from the physical forcing of environmental variables or from community processes. In both cases, spatial structuring plays a functional role in ecosystems. Ecological models should explicitly take into account the spatial structure of ..."
