A Computerized Method for Determining Driving Point Resistance

by T S Rathore, Ashish Jain
"... Abstract—A new computerized method for determination of driving point resistance is proposed. It is suitable for manual calculation as well. It proceeds step by step in a logical way. The network is reduced to a single resistance using parallel, series, star-delta and delta-star reduction techniques ..."

The symposium papers in this document describe specific applications of research management techniques currently being used by research and development organizations. Topics of the papers are based on subjects practicing R 6 D managers have found important in the management of research. Although the symposium was not specifically designed to include all aspects of research management, the papers when taken together comprise a "working " model for managing the information associated with R 6 D activities. Topics of the five papers include (1) a prototype research management system whereby information is organized for easy retrieval by research managers, (2) a description of organizational operations procedures and policies that reduce the administrative burden on researchers and developers and assist management in operating an effective R & D organization, (3) a system for using the computer to manage information about the financial expenditures of an R & D

In the process of preparing more than 1,000 tree cores for use in the analysis of air pollution effects on tree growth as part of a larger forest ecology project (Miller et al. 1982), we have developed two programs to make dendrochronological procedures more objective which formerly involved considerable subjective judgment. A computerized method for identifying incidents associated with adverse drug events in outpatients

by Benjamin Honigman A, Patrice Light B, Russel M. Pulling C, David W. Bates D
"... Introduction: In inpatients, computer monitors have been used to improve the detection of adverse drug events (ADEs). However, similar programs have not been available in outpatients. Objecti6e: To describe an approach for detecting incidents suggesting that an ADE may have occurred in outpatients b ..."

Computerized Method for Validating Laboratory Reference Ranges for Triiodothyronine and Thyroxin lmmunoassays

by Brianluttreil Andsally Watters
"... We used a computer-based method to help validate the reference ranges of assays for triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxin (T4). A retrospective search of a database of laboratory results for the previous six months identified all patients with apparent euthyroid status, as defined by methods independen ..."

Accuracy of dementia diagnosisça direct comparison between radiologists and a computerized method

by Richard S. J
"... There has been recent interest in the application of machine learning techniques to neuroimaging-based diagnosis. These methods promise fully automated, standard PC-based clinical decisions, unbiased by variable radiological expertise. We recently used support vector machines (SVMs) to separate spor ..."

On Projection Algorithms for Solving Convex Feasibility Problems

by Heinz H. Bauschke, Jonathan M. Borwein , 1996
"... Due to their extraordinary utility and broad applicability in many areas of classical mathematics and modern physical sciences (most notably, computerized tomography), algorithms for solving convex feasibility problems continue to receive great attention. To unify, generalize, and review some of the ..."
