DBXplorer: A system for keyword-based search over relational databases
- In ICDE
, 2002
"... Internet search engines have popularized the keywordbased search paradigm. While traditional database management systems offer powerful query languages, they do not allow keyword-based search. In this paper, we discuss DBXplorer, a system that enables keywordbased search in relational databases. DBX ..."

Keyword-based Document Clustering
"... Document clustering is an aggregation of related documents to a cluster based on the similarity evaluation task between documents and the representatives of clusters. Terms and their discriminating features of terms are the clue to the clustering and the discriminating features are based on the term ..."

the similarity computation and propose a keyword-based clustering algorithm. Experimental results show that content-based keyword weighting outperforms frequency-based weighting method.
Searchable Keyword-Based Encryption
, 2005
"... To solve the problem of searching on encrypted data, many keyword search schemes have been proposed in recent years. The goal of such schemes is to enable a user to give an untrusted storage server the ability only to test whether an encrypted document contains a few keywords without learning anyt ..."

jects that use these technologies for archiving and retrieval. The main goal of the MAESTRO project is to discover, implement, and evaluate various combinations of these technologies to achieve analysis performance that surpasses the sum of the parts. For example, British Prime Minister Tony Blair can be identified in the news by his voice, his appearance, captions, and other cues. A combination of these cues should provide more reliable identification of the Prime Minister than using any of the cues on their own. MAESTRO is a highly multidisciplinary effort, involving contributions from three laboratories across two divisions at SRI. Each of these SRI technologies is described in more detail here. The integrating architecture makes it easy to combine these in different ways, and to incorporate new analysis technologies developed by our team or by others. Multimedia Analysis Technologies on the MAESTRO Score On the MAESTRO Score (see Figure 1), on each line, similar

At the end of a thoughtful article on the future of nuclear war, Wiesner and York (1) concluded that: “Both sides in the arms race are... confronted by the dilemma of steadily increasing military power and steadily de-creasing national security. It is our considered professional judgment that this dilemma has no technical solution. If the great powers continue to look for solutions in the area of science and technology only, the result will be to worsen the situation.” I would like to focus your attention not on the subject of the article (national secu-rity in a nuclear world) but on the kind of conclusion they reached, namely that there
Knowledge and Common Knowledge in a Distributed Environment
- Journal of the ACM
, 1984
"... : Reasoning about knowledge seems to play a fundamental role in distributed systems. Indeed, such reasoning is a central part of the informal intuitive arguments used in the design of distributed protocols. Communication in a distributed system can be viewed as the act of transforming the system&apo ..."

Applications Of Circumscription To Formalizing Common Sense Knowledge
- Artificial Intelligence
, 1986

We present a new and more symmetric version of the circumscription method of nonmonotonic reasoning first described in (McCarthy 1980) and some applications to formalizing common sense knowledge. Challenges of keyword-based location disclosure
- in Proc. of WPES
, 2013
"... A practical solution to location privacy should be incremen-tally deployable. We claim it should hence reconcile the eco-nomic value of location to aggregators, usually ignored by prior works, with a user’s control over her information. Loca-tion information indeed is being collected and used by man ..."

Recognizing that the first challenge is to express lo-cations in a way that is meaningful for advertisers and users, we propose a keyword based design. Keywords characterize locations, let the users inform the system about their sen
