ON CERTAIN VALUES OF KLOOSTERMAN SUMS
, 903
"... Abstract. Let Kqn(a) be a Kloosterman sum over the finite field Fqn of characteristic p. In this note so called subfield conjecture is proved in case p> 3: if a ̸ = 0 belongs to the proper subfield Fq of Fqn, then Kqn(a) ̸ = −1. This completes recent works on the subfield conjecture by Shparlinsk ..."

In this note so called subfield conjecture is proved in case p> 3: if a ̸ = 0 belongs to the proper subfield Fq of Fqn, then Kqn(a) ̸ = −1. This completes recent works on the subfield conjecture by Shparlinski, and Moisio and Lisonek. The problem is motivated by some applications to bent functions. Moreover, in the course of the proof a large class of translates of Dickson polynomials are shown to be irreducible. 1.

The relationship between return and market value of common stocks
 Journal of Financial Economics
, 1981
"... This study examines the empirical relattonship between the return and the total market value of NYSE common stocks. It is found that smaller firms have had htgher risk adjusted returns, on average, than larger lirms. This ‘size effect ’ has been in existence for at least forty years and is evidence ..."

Dynamo: amazon’s highly available keyvalue store
 IN PROC. SOSP
, 2007
"... Reliability at massive scale is one of the biggest challenges we face at Amazon.com, one of the largest ecommerce operations in the world; even the slightest outage has significant financial consequences and impacts customer trust. the reliability and scalability of the software systems.
This paper presents the design and implementation of Dynamo, a highly available keyvalue storage system that some of Amazon’s core services use to provide an “alwayson ” experience. To achieve this level of availability, Dynamo sacrifices consistency
