Heinrich events: Massive late Pleistocene detritus layers of the North Atlantic and their global climate imprint
- Rev. Geophys
, 2004
"... [1] Millennial climate oscillations of the glacial interval are interrupted by extreme events, the so-called Heinrich events of the North Atlantic. Their near-global footprint is a testament to coherent interactions among Earth’s atmosphere, oceans, and cryosphere on millennial timescales. Heinrich ..."

THE MOVEMENT OF ATLANTIC WATER IN THE ARCTIC OCEAN*
"... W ATER with relatively high temperature (>3"C.) and salinity (slightly above 35%0) enters the Arctic Ocean through the strait lying between Spitsbergen and Greenland and then occupies the level between approxi-mately 200 and 900 metres. ORIGINAL PAPER The diversity of seaweeds on maerl in the NE Atlantic

To date, 349 macroalgal species have been recorded on maerl in the NE Atlantic (67 % are Rhodophyta), a re

The character and field occurrence of fulgurites from the Cretaceous sands of North and South Carolina are described. Over one hundred tubes averaging about three-eighths of an inch in diameter have been collected. The tubes have been traced downward sixty feet and are surprisingly abundant in areas that could be examined in detail. The paper also includes a state-ment on artificial fulgurite formation and a bibliography on lightning as a geological factor. * Paper presented in abstract at the fifteenth annual meeting of the Mineralogical
