Adaptive Filters

by Simon Haykin
"... Introduction An adaptive filter is defined as a self-designing system that relies for its operation on a recursive algorithm, which makes it possible for the filter to perform satisfactorily in an environment where knowledge of the relevant statistics is not available. Adaptive filters are classif ..."

Adaptive Filtering

by Christian Wagner, Gabriel Wittum - Numerische Mathematik
"... . In this paper, the adaptive filtering method is introduced and analysed. This method leads to robust algorithms for the solution of systems of linear equations which arise from the discretisation of partial differential equations with strongly varying coefficients. These iterative algorithms are b ..."

This paper presents a common framework for subband doubletalk detectors. Within this framework a number of lowcomplexity subband doubletalk detectors are evaluated in comparison with a corresponding fullband detector. The evaluation is performed by using real-data off-line calculations. The evaluation indicates that the subband approach significantly improves the performance.

Novelty and redundancy detection in adaptive filtering

by Yi Zhang, Jamie Callan , 2002
"... This paper addresses the problem of extending an adaptive information filtering system to make decisions about the novelty and redundancy of relevant documents. It argues that relevance and redundance should each be modelled explicitly and separately. A set of five redundancy measures are proposed a ..."

On regularization in adaptive filtering

by Jacob Benesty, Constantin Paleologu - IEEE Trans. Audio, Speech, Lang. Process , 2011
"... Abstract—Regularization plays a fundamental role in adaptive filtering. An adaptive filter that is not properly regularized will perform very poorly. In spite of this, regularization in our opinion is underestimated and rarely discussed in the literature of adap-tive filtering. There are, very likel ..."

Multi-Split Adaptive Filtering

by Leonardo S. Resende , João Marcos T. Romano, Maurice Bellanger , 2001
"... In this paper a novel transversal split filter configuration is proposed and the split optimum Wiener filter is introduced, as well as the symmetric and antisymmetric linear phase Wiener filter. The approach consists of combining the idea of split filtering with a linearly-constrained optimization s ..."

It is also shown that such structure can be viewed as a Hadamard-domain adaptive filter when the number of coefficients is set to a power of two. Simulation results obtained with the normalized
