Table 2: Dropping directions corresponding to small Eigenvalues of C (cf. (12)) leads to substantial improvements. All results given are for the case =0:4 (cf. Table 1); degree 4 homogeneous polynomial kernel.

"... In PAGE 6: ...beginning on. Dropping principal components which are less important leads to substantial improvements ( Table2 ); cf. the explanation following (12).... In PAGE 6: ... the explanation following (12). The results in Table2 are somewhat distorted by the fact that the polynomial kernel is not translation invariant, and performs poorly on the [0;; 1] data, which becomes evident in the case where none of the principal components are discarded. Better results have been obtained using translation invariant kernels, e.... ..."

Table 2 reports the Mean Average Precision obtained by both ESP- and ESP-LSA on the extracted rela- tions, showing the substantial improvements on all the relations due to domain based re-ranking.

"... In PAGE 6: ... Table2 : Mean Average Precision reported by ESP- and ESP-LSA Figures 2, 3, 4 and 5 report the precision/recall curves obtained for each relation, estimated by mea- suring the precision / recall at each point of the ranked list. Results show that precision is very high especially for the top ranked relations extracted by ESP-LSA.... ..."

Table 5, both the co-occurrence model and the triple translation model bring substantial improvements over simple translation. The use of the decaying co-occurrence model results in a 48% improvement, which is statistically significant (p-value = 0.008).

Table 3 shows the results of using the phone-deletion penalty duration model versus the original minimum duration model. As the table clearly shows, penalizing the phone deletions results in substantial improvement across the four test sets.

Table 3.5: Summary of experiments with different feature vectors. The results show that including context frames substantially improves performance. The best configuration is found when two context frames are included on each side of the target frame. This improves performance by a whole 8.7%/10.5% from previous found results.

Table 3 secret ballot election protocols. The assumptions for untraceability and fault tolerance are independent. CRYP denotes a cryptographic assumption. Of course, the tables are not complete, but they contain all protocols which describe substantial security improvements. They show that the new protocols are the first to guarantee untraceability and fault tolerance unconditionally.
