Approximate accelerated stochastic simulation of chemically reacting systems

by Daniel T Gillespie - J. Chem. Phys , 2001
"... The stochastic simulation algorithm ͑SSA͒ is an essentially exact procedure for numerically simulating the time evolution of a well-stirred chemically reacting system. Despite recent major improvements in the efficiency of the SSA, its drawback remains the great amount of computer time that is ofte ..."

Nonlocal electrodynamics of accelerated systems

by Bahram Mashhoon , 2007
"... Acceleration-induced nonlocality is discussed and a simple field theory of nonlocal electrodynamics is developed. The theory involves a pair of real parameters that are to be determined from observation. The implications of this theory for the phenomenon of helicity-rotation coupling are briefly exa ..."

LHC: ACCELERATOR SYSTEMS AND

by R. Saban, B. Bellesia, M. P. Casas Lino, C. Fern, Ez Robles, M. Pojer, R. Schmidt, M. Solfaroli, Camillocci A. Vergara Fernandez
"... The Large Hadron Collider operation relies on 1232 superconducting dipoles with a field of 8.33T and 400 superconducting quadrupoles with a strength of 220 T/m powered at 12kA, operating in superfluid He at 1.9K. For dipoles and quadrupoles as well as for many other magnets more than 1700 power conv ..."

converters are necessary to feed the superconducting circuits. A sophisticated magnet protection system is crucial to detect a quench and safely extract the energy stored in the circuits (about 1GJ only in one of the dipole circuits) after a resistive transition. Besides, in such complex architecture, many

Abstract: We compare here some technical aspects, and with it the cost, of constructing a 500 GeV center-of-mass Linear Collider with either discrete klystron or with two-beam (relativistic klystron) technology using X-band for the main linac. A comparison concept is applied to CLIC and NLC technologies, but not to a particular CLIC or NLC design. The methodology created can be applied to higher c.m.s. energies, if the reader so desires.

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF CDTC ACCELERATING SYSTEM

by unknown authors
"... In paper [1] the new principle of contraband detection system and scheme of Contraband Detection Technological Complex (CDTC) of NIIEFA were proposed. The CDTC employs rf deuteron linac and matrix detection system. Beam of deuterons impinge upon a target giving birth pulsed neutron flow. Detection s ..."

Nonlocal Electrodynamics of Linearly Accelerated Systems

by Bahram Mashhoon , 2008
"... The measurement of an electromagnetic radiation field by a linearly accelerated observer is discussed. The nonlocality of this process is emphasized. The nonlocal theory of accelerated observers is briefly described and the consequences of this theory are illustrated using a concrete example involvi ..."
