Abstract: Relational databases are common in practice. The design of database application systems
is one of the most important tasks of practical computer scientists. The state-of-the-art approach
in this eld uses extended Entity-Relationship models to capture structure, semantics
and behaviour of systems to be built.
Then one problem is to systematically approach database design and the derivation of
executable database programs. Another one is to guarantee consistency of developped transactions
