Abstract: There is an increasing number of Internet applications that do not require reliable data transfer, and hence do not solicit feedback from receivers in the form of acknowledgments. However, receiver feedback about received and lost packets is essential for proper network behavior in the face of congestion. In this thesis, we propose an application-independent feedback scheme for unreliable flows running over the User Datagram Protocol. Our scheme is lightweight, adaptive and robust in the face...
