Abstract: In cryptography, there are two tools needed almost for each and every system and/or protocol: random number generators and one-way functions. Their use is then vital. This work covers a detailed description of hash functions, as one-way functions, involved in different cryptographic processes. The work begins defining these functions followed by the description of their classification. (Update)
