Abstract: . To date many problems remain in the field of quantitative tissue analysis. One area where quantitation is particularly important and clinically useful is the immunohistochemical analysis of breast cancer biopsies. A survey of the literature on automated quantitative analysis tools reveals the existence of several key problems, particularly in the area of tissue analysis. Many of these factors prevent further improvement in accurately assessing staining intensity and heterogeneity. There is a... (Update)
