Abstract: We study truncated Lang-Kobayashi equations that describe the behavior of semiconductor lasers with feedback. For particular values of parameters we prove rigorously that the system demonstrates chaotic behavior: there is a compact invariant set with the homoclinic point, there exists in nitely many unstable periodic modes, etc. The proof is based on computer assisted computations, where all errors are estimated and taken into account.
