Abstract: . This paper describes the design and implementation of a language for programming distributed applications. This language is closely integrated with the Guide distributed operating system, which provides its run-time support. The main features of the language are separate definition of types and classes, conform-ant subtypes, support for complex persistent objects, and location transparency. The language also provides concurrent activities and a synchronization mechanism for shared objects.... (Update)
