Abstract: Introduction Conceptual design and schema integration are among central issues in the DB area. Their significance is commonly recognized and to date has increased greatly due to the evident tendency of organizing modern (and of the nearest future) information systems on cooperative principals. Indeed, for cooperative systems (CIS) it is normal that an application program needs data stored in several separate databases (DBs). In addition, a peculiarity of CIS consists in heterogeneity of local... (Update)
